Most AP solutions consist of three components - input, workflow, and repository.

	1. Input
	Accounts payable solutions collect data through two methods: scanning paper documents or importing electronic invoices. Through these input methods data is automatically compiled, organized, and quality controlled to make sure the information is error free. Once through the input process, data and invoice images are sent to the workflow process.

	2. Workflow
	Workflow allows an organization to automatically route invoice data and corresponding images to any authorized employee for approval or notice. Routing and approval processes are completely customizable and auditable. Once correct approval has been given, invoices can then be paid and filed electronically.

	3. Repository
	Images and data may be filed in a number of different repositories, including existing applications, which allow for easy access to invoice data and images. Repositories are secure and easy to reinstate for disaster recovery.
