Provo, Utah – September 20, 2002 – Salt Lake City law firm Strong & Hanni has partnered with DoxTek, a document technologies company, to create a solution for converting traditional mail into email through document scanning and to distribute those emails to firm employees.
“We feel the ability to send our attorneys sensitive material in the most confidential and direct manner will benefit the firm and our clients,” said Ladd Albrechtsen, Strong & Hanni executive director. “Making mail accessible through secure, electronic processes is another tool to increase our ability to serve the community.”
The electronic mailing system allows paper mail from selected employees to be scanned and processed through a Fujitsu document scanner and Kofax software, with an e-mail module, effectively creating an electronic version of the mailed piece. In its electronic form, attorneys can search the mail for specific words and phrases making the information more useable and friendly.
“The system we implement with Strong & Hanni gives its attorneys the ability to store, search and retrieve information from the mail directly off their computer,” said Brandon Groom, DoxTek’s chief technology executive. “Our system will greatly increase the firm’s ability to access and use its mail.”
Strong & Hanni’s current case management software, Time Matters, is completely compatible with and leverages the electronic mail system to make specific pieces of mail available for court and trial depositions.
