Provo, Utah – January 24, 2005 – DoxTek, Inc., a Utah-based provider of electronic information management solutions, and Manatron, Inc. (NASDAQ: MANA), a leading provider of government software solutions, have joined forces to provide Indiana county assessors with the ability to manage documents and forms electronically, through paperless technologies.
“We are looking forward to working with an innovative company like DoxTek,” commented Paul Sylvester, Manatron’s chief executive officer. “This product will allow county offices to save time, reduce administrative costs, increase customer service, and most importantly, to meet the State’s requirements.”
The State of Indiana has recently mandated that county assessors must submit sales disclosure and personal property tax data electronically.
To help county organizations meet this mandate, DoxTek is giving Manatron rights to resell SCOPE, DoxTek’s scanning and information management solution, to be bundled with Manatron’s appraisal software, Manatron CAMA.
The combined solution uses a Canon scanner to convert sales disclosure and personal property forms into digital images. Text-recognition software “reads” the information contained within the images and extracts the data. Both the images and data are sent to a secure electronic repository.
Once in the repository, the solution allows users to apply business rules to sort, tabulate, and otherwise manage the data—including the ability to submit tax data in a completely paperless process.
“The DoxTek/Manatron partnership provides counties with the best of two worlds,” said Michael Miles, president of DoxTek. “DoxTek is experienced in paperless technologies and Manatron is an expert in government software solutions.”
