February 11, 2009 Rexburg, Idaho—Using software and training provided by DoxTek, operators at Brigham Young University (BYU) Idaho are making 5,000 historic photographs, from 1890 to 1950, available to the public through BYU’s Website. The project consists of scanning negatives from the Clark County Historic Photograph Collection and combining the images with descriptive data, such as names and dates. The images are then uploaded to BYU’s website and are keyword searchable by the descriptive data. Thomas Thornton, information manager of Brigham Young University’s David O. McKay Library, is pleased with DoxTek’s involvement in the project. “With DoxTek’s help we are able to quickly make the Clark County Collections available and accessible to the public. Their contribution has been significant.” The Clark County Historic Photograph Collection is a compilation of photographs from Clark County, Idaho. The collection contains 5,000 pictures of people, places, and things from the years of 1890 to 1950. -###- About DoxTek, Inc.: DoxTek is a Utah corporation.
