Orem, Utah – September 13, 2006 – OREM, Utah, September 13, 2006 –DoxTek, a provider of electronic document management solutions today announced the successful installation of Kofax Ascent Capture® and INDICIUS® technology at AncestryDPS, a leading digital preservation service. The contract provided an overall solution for AncestryDPS to optimize the processing of over 9 million images per month. AncestryDPS is part of the MyFamily.com, Inc. network of products and services that provides the tools to enable people to discover who they are and where they come from. Ancestry.com is the foremost online source for family history information, including the web’s largest collection of historical records with over 6 billion names. AncestryDPS processes 100 thousand document pages per day including census records, birth/death records, military records, community directories, immigration records and even documents as many as 300 years old. AncestryDPS needed a highly customizable solution to help capture the information from the myriad of documents they scan each day. They enlisted the help of DoxTek to find that solution. DoxTek, based out of Orem, Utah, specializes in high-speed scanning systems, electronic forms, business process automation, and information management solutions. Their products and services center on capturing, managing, storing, retrieving, and outputting information electronically-thus automating numerous business processes resulting in substantial productivity gains for the end user. DoxTek, who is a Kofax Certified Solutions Provider, recommended the Ascent Platform and INDICIUS products because of their ability to process and classify unstructured, semi-structured and structured documents including handwritten pages. “With the installation of Ascent and INDICIUS, we can now automate many of the documents that we used to key manually,” said Shawn Reid, development director at AncestryDPS. “Even the 200 year old handwritten documents gain process improvements due to additional validation and correction at the keying operator, rather than later when it is more expensive to make changes. We capture an average of 100 thousand document pages per day and using the solution will improve the processing of some of these documents by as much as 10 times.” Since AncestryDPS captures so many unique records, custom modules had to be created to ensure the process ran correctly. Through these workflow modules, AncestryDPS has created various add-on solutions that accommodate the wide variety of document types that are processed.“One of our principles is to help companies make better use of their time and money through the use of technology,” said Michael Miles, President of DoxTek. “By providing AncestryDPS with this solution and customizing it to their specific needs, we were able to apply this principle and allow MyFamily and subsidiary AncestryDPS to capture their complex documents more efficiently, saving them significant time and money.” -###- About DoxTek, Inc.: DoxTek is a Utah corporation.
