Provo, Utah – May 19, 2004 – The Bank of American Fork is working with DoxTek, a local document imaging company, to implement an enterprise-wide imaging system, which will allow bank employees to access digital replicas of customer loan documents and signature cards, from any of the bank’s ten branches.
“This system gives our customers the ability to walk into any branch and have instant access to loan documentation and signature verification,” said Mark Holley, Bank of American Fork systems manager. “The days of waiting for home branches to pull and fax copies of documents are gone. It saves us time and it saves our customers time.”
Currently, all branches of the Bank of American Fork are being equipped with a document scanner, to capture digital images of documents, and software to import the scanned images into the banks enterprise-wide Jack Henry system.
Customers’ digital loan and signature documents are attached to their accounts and are available for review anytime the account is accessed.
Holley said, “DoxTek has made this system work beautifully for us. Our customers can make a deposit and review their loan application without additional waiting or work on our end.”
In addition to increasing customer service and security, the bank is also saving room. According to the FDIC, banks must archive all customer documents for seven years.
“Considering some loans consist of 300 to 500 pages of documentation, we are talking about quite a few bank boxes,” said Holley. “Now we archive all of our digital documentation on optical disks, which take up a fraction of the space.”
