Provo, Utah –  December 11, 2002 –  DoxTek is working with Novell, Inc. to upgrade four previously installed DoxTek information management systems allowing employees to enter, view, search, retrieve and store information without paper or manual data entry.

“We have been well-pleased with our current system and expect the upgrades to improve our ability to disseminate customer information to the Enterprise, increasing customer satisfaction,” said Mike Bready, director of contract management at Novell.

Currently, the Sales Operations, Purchasing and Contract Management (United States and Ireland) Departments are converting paper-based information into electronic information through the use of Canon documents scanners and Legato management software.

To provide faster scanning and more functionality, Doxtek is upgrading the current systems to the newest versions of Legato software and installing Kofax information capture software.

Kofax software will give Novell the ability to automatically read pre-designated fields on document and business forms.  After the documents are scanned and stored, authorized employees can search for information collected off of the documents (i.e., customer name, contract type, PO numbers, etc…).

“The newest versions of Legato software, and the introduction of Kofax software, will greatly increase Novell’s ability to quickly and efficiently manage its information—saving time and money,” said Brandon Groom, Doxtek vice president of technologies.

“Novell’s customers will also benefit because employees will have easy access to records such as contracts and purchase orders.”

Novell is also doubling the number of system operators in hopes of providing greater customer service.

“We are exposing our contract and operational records to the Enterprise,” said Bready.  “Novell personnel can answer customer questions without searching through filing cabinets or waiting for co-workers to retrieve documents for them.”
